Irongate Group acquires Hudson’s and PPS
Irongate Group has acquired Hudson Group and Progressive Print Services (PPS), both based in Birmingham.
Hudson Group has been trading in Birmingham for over three quarters of a century and has a well established client base. The business will continue to trade under the Hudson name and service its customers as usual. The PPS business will relocate to the Hudson’s site and become the print arm of the business, allowing Hudson’s to offer a comprehensive print service in Birmingham.
Irongate Group Managing Director Adam Noble says: “This is an exciting time for us. Despite world economic uncertainty and bucking most business trends, Irongate grew its business during 2009/10 and indeed recorded its best ever year. Acquiring Hudson’s and PPS gives us a valuable presence in the West Midlands and a great opportunity to grow in a new geographical area. Irongate has built a reputation for delivering excellent customer service, value for money and quality products, a foundation which I’m sure will benefit all Hudson and PPS customers.”
Irongate Group wins £1.3m in new print contracts
Irongate Group, the east midlands leading office supplies, furniture and print management company has been awarded two print contracts worth approx £1.3m.
Following a tender process, BSS Group plc, a leading distributer of plumbing and heating products based in Leicester has awarded Irongate a 12 month rolling contract to supply all of their operational print. The contract worth approximately £800k will see Irongate print and distribute over 180 different types of business forms and corporate stationery to 400 of BSS Group’s branches in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
BSS will also make use of Irongate’s cutting edge web to print solution so authorised users can order their business cards, letterheads and compliment slips 24/7 at the touch of a button. Not only will this dramatically reduce the time involved with ordering these items but it will also reduce print production lead times.
Adam Noble, Irongate Group Managing Director said “We are delighted that BSS have chosen Irongate as their key print partner. A combination of competitive pricing, rapid turnaround times and flexible account management were key factors in securing the contract”.
A spokesperson for BSS said they had been particularly impressed by the professionalism shown to them by the Irongate team and the efficiency and capability of the implementation at their Kingsway premises.
The second new contract successfully won by Irongate involves producing and distributing over £500k of training manuals for a large South Yorkshire based training company. This utilises Irongate’s unique print-on-demand and distribution service.
