Derby College needed their new £10m campus in Ilkeston furnishing to meet the needs of around 800 students and 200 staff. As well as meeting functional needs, aesthetics were very important on this project as one of the college’s objectives was to introduce colour to create a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere.
With a wide portfolio of office furniture available in our range, Irongate was able to provide a full solution of classroom, office, library and bistro furniture. Through thoughtful interior design, Irongate provided plans and layouts which provided subtle contrasting colours between desks and pedestals in the offices and bright dynamic colours for the library and bistro areas.
The college was very pleased with the lively vibrant look of the new facilities with the furniture standing centre stage in each of the different areas. As well as the imaginative use of colour, we helped Derby College choose stylish bistro style tables and chairs for their canteen area, plus comfortable furniture together with shelving, for the library.
