Well Pharmacy's seamless transition to new uniform
When London-based wholesale group Bestway took over the Co-operative Pharmacy group in late 2015, they rebranded that part of the business to be called, Well. Well operate 780 pharmacies across the UK providing prescription medicines and a range of health and beauty products.
Well approached Irongate to create a new uniform for their 350 staff based at their Stoke-on-Trent, state-of-the-art, £16million Distribution Centre. The brief was to create a dual-branded uniform, with both the Well company logo and the Bestway branding and for the colour scheme to be sufficiently different from their previous Co-operative colour scheme of navy and turquoise. It also needed to be long lasting, hard wearing and comfortable for a range of wearers – from warehouse staff through to security services staff. They also had a strict budget to adhere to.
The SolutionFollowing several on-site consultations to fully understand the needs and requirements of their 350 wearers; this refresh was about durability and brand awareness. We looked at a range of combinations and suggested two very strong options from our popular multi-colour Silverstone range for Well to choose from – the black/silver and the navy/royal blue combination. Both of which would look exceptional with their new vivid coloured corporate logo. Well decided to use the Black/Silver which is available in a range of garments including polo shirts, sweatshirts, soft shells and fleeces, giving them flexibility on what they chose. The tops were complemented by our best-selling cargo trouser, the black Condor which were also embroidered with the logo. We also designed a range of hi-visibility garments for their security team. We provided pre-production samples for both male and female wearers and dressed mannequins to present to their board of directors for final sign off. Several employees were also selected to test the chosen uniforms in their working environment for 2 weeks. This was followed by two on-site sizing days where our uniform experts met with staff to fit them in the correct sizes. The wearers name and sizes were filled out on order forms and then subsequently ordered and delivered in individual man packs. This made it easy for Well to distribute the uniforms.
